Having grown up in the UK, Ruthie traded in the English countryside for the inner city of San Francisco, where she founded Because Justice Matters, an organization building pathways to brighter futures for women and girls in urban communities. Motivated by personal experiences witnessing the effects of poverty, violence, and exploitation, Ruthie and the BJM team have made a long-term investment in the Tenderloin neighborhood through initiatives such as creative arts, after-school programs, outreach to women in the adult entertainment industry, brave space groups, social enterprise and so much more.
Ruthie is an ordained minister, a member of the teaching team at Reality SF church, and frequently serves as a guest speaker at numerous churches, retreats, and events in the Bay Area and beyond.
Fueled by a passion for unlocking potential and driving meaningful change, Ruthie works with individuals and teams across various industry sectors as an executive leadership coach. Helping to level up their leadership, clarify vision, and move past personal and organizational obstacles, Ruthie is a catalyst for transformation and growth.
Ruthie lives in San Francisco, loves taking her rescue pup Callie for walks on the beach and hunting for travel deals to satisfy her desire to explore and experience new places.
Her life and work are greatly inspired and enriched by her husband Brian and two boys.
